Eviction Ban Lifted – Housing Law

1st June 2021 marked an important change in Landlord & Tenant possession proceedings.

The section 21 Notice that was extended to a 6-month notice was reduced to 4-month notice.

The section 8 Notice was also extended to a 4-week notice requiring 6 month arrears was reduced to a 4-week notice requiring 4 month arrears.

The county court bailiffs are able to enforce possession orders.

Changes are gradually being made, giving a more positive outlook to those landlords who have been unable to take possession of their property back during the coronavirus pandemic.
